Edward J. McKenna was born in this city March 10, 1852. His parents were John and Elizabeth McKenna. He has always lived in Troy.

…He started in life as a dry goods clerk, but later secured an appointment on the Troy police as a detective. He was promoted to police captain and is now in charge of the Third Precinct, having been in police service for fourteen years.
