Linotype: The Film (for the curious)

The first blog post from our new space…I’m kneeling on the floor in front of my computer (don’t have my chair yet) and very much liking the view of the Hudson River, the barrister bookcases filled with samples of the projects Troy Book Makers has completed over the past few years, the light blue walls…

I’m quickly running through email, and see this post from “I Love Typography.” It’s a trailer for a film about linotype. (Called linotype because it’s just that–how to compose a line of type).

If your friends might describe you as old-fashioned, sentimental, or if you’re fascinated by curious old machines from the past AND you like books/ type/ print, you will definitely love this clip. Happy Friday, and here’s to 291 River Street!
